What is Wrist Tendonitis?
Achilles tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon at the back of the ankle that connects the calf to the heel. It’s usually caused by overuse, especially in runners and athletes, and leads to pain, stiffness, and swelling, often worse with activity or pressure.
Common Symptoms
- Pain on the thumb side of the wrist (radial side)
- Pain with gripping, pinching, or wrist motion
- Swelling or tenderness at the base of the thumb
- Difficulty with lifting or twisting actions (e.g. jars, kettles)
- Pain on thumb extension or resisted movement
- Positive Finkelstein’s test (pain when stretching thumb tendons)
How can we help?
Low level laser therapy uses infrared laser light painlessly to promote healing and tissue repair when everything else has failed and is at the centre of our holistic treatment approach.
Our Low Level Laser Therapy program is carefully structured and supervised by GP Dr Shikha Parmar. We start with a full assessment so your treatment plan is tailored to your health, lifestyle, and activity needs. We provide personalised advice and a rehab program to support your recovery.
Most people need around 12 sessions, with progress checked along the way. Your recovery is supported by gentle rehab and activity guidance. The program is time-limited, once therapy finishes, your body continues to heal naturally, helping you get back to moving with confidence and returning to normal activity.
