Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update for Our Clinic

LASER PAIN THERAPY REMAINS FULLY OPEN AND AVAILABLE TO SEE PATIENTS
as an essential provider of health care to patients in chronic pain.

As a medical clinic and GP-led health care provider of services to patients in acute and chronic pain who are not unwell with infections, Laser Pain Therapy’s patients’ and your safety remains our highest priority. We are monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak situation closely and are listening carefully to the questions and concerns we receive from our patients.

We are in the business of providing health care services and in the midst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it’s important that we give you as much information as possible about the procedures we adhere to in order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment to ensure the safety of all our patients.

If you are unwell
We respectfully ask that you call us if you are unwell and plan to postpone your appointment, to safeguard staff and other patients. We will offer flexibility in the event that you have had to undergo a Covid test and need to reschedule your appointment once you are given the all-clear, we are happy to accommodate our patients.

Temperature checks
We have been performing temperature checks on all visitors to Laser Pain Therapy since early on in the pandemic. The staff also undergo daily temperature checks. Anyone with a temperature reading of 37.5 deg Celsius or greater will not be treated at the clinic and will be asked to seek medical advice from their local GP.

Social distancing measures
We are abiding by the social distancing measures. Patients will be able to wait in one of 4 separate consulting rooms keeping the main reception area for finalising payment and re-bookings. This observes the Prime Minister’s requirement of 1 person per 4 square metres.

Staff in attendance wear surgical masks and clinical staff also wear single use, disposable gloves during treatment.

We will continue to uphold our high clinical and sanitation standards.

Communication with booked patients
To our booked patients: we will be communicating with you ahead of your appointments to ensure you are well from an infection point of view to attend. If you have any respiratory and/or flu-like symptoms such as fever, runny or blocked nose, sore throat, cough, breathing difficulties, aches and pains, hayfever symptoms (which can be confused with infection symptoms) we encourage you to seek appropriate healthcare from your local health services and defer your sessions with us. Or seek advice from the Coronavirus Hotline on 1800 675 398 or website https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

Our sanitation practices:

  • Disinfecting and wiping down of treatment surfaces after each patient interaction with high strength isopropyl alcohol
  • Cleaning of treatment equipment and rooms after each patient with hospital grade isopropyl alcohol
  • Thorough frequent cleaning throughout the day of all high touch areas with high-grade disinfectant, including reception surfaces, eftpos machine, door handles, and treatment areas
  • Frequent disinfectant spraying of rooms and touch surfaces
  • UVC light disinfection of rooms and laser equipment daily

Hand sanitiser is provided freely in all rooms of our clinic and we ask that you use this on entering the clinic.

We require the wearing of a mask.

We take the great pride in the role we play in the lives of our patients.
